Seth D. Krummrich

Colonel (COL) Seth D. Krummrich graduated from Tulane University in 1994 where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Latin American Studies.   He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant through the ROTC program in 1994.  COL Krummrich was assigned to Germany serving in the 2-67 Armor BN and 1-1 CAV Squadron as a platoon leader and staff officer prior to completing Special Forces training.
In 1999, after completion of Special Forces Detachment Officers Qualification Course, COL Krummrich was assigned to Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) Operational Detachment Alpha (ODA) 546 where he served as a Detachment Commander and deployed in the initial invasion of Afghanistan in 2001.   Following OEF I, COL Krummrich served as 5th SFG(A)’s Regional Survey Team Commander serving throughout the Middle East and the Horn of Africa.  

In 2003, COL Krummrich served as a SF Branch Assignment officer at the US Army’s Human Resources Command then earned a Masters Degree in Defense Analysis from the Naval Post Graduate School in 2007.  He returned to 5th SFG(A) and deployed numerous times to Operation Iraqi Freedom.  After his tours in 5th SFG(A),  he served in the National Capitol Region serving on the Joint Staff and in the Chief of Staff of the Army’s office. COL Krummrich commanded a Battalion in the Special Warfare Center and School (SWCS) and served as the SWCS G-3.  Most recently, he was a senior Military Fellow at Stanford University.

COL Krummrich’s awards and decorations include:  the Bronze Star, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (with Oak Leaf Cluster), the Meritorious Service Medal (5th award), the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (2nd award), the Army Achievement Medal , the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, the Army Superior Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal (2nd award), the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Global War of Terrorism Expeditionary Medal , the Global Warfare on Terrorism Service Medal, the Armed Service Ribbon, the Oversea Service Ribbon, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Ranger Tab, the Special Forces Tab, the Military Free-fall parachutist badge, the Parachutist badge and the Joint Staff Identification Badge.
