The Fort Irwin EO/EEO offices along with Regimental Support Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, cordially invites the community to participate in the African American/Black History Month Celebration, which will take place 1 February 2017, from 1130-1300, at the Sandy Basin Community Center.  The theme for this year's event is "The Crisis in Black Education" This event will feature guest speaker Dawnn Lewis, and African tribal performers, educational displays, and a food sampling provided by the 11th ACR volunteer culinary team. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer and help prepare food or be involved in the observance please contact the Fort Irwin EO/EEO Offices at 380-4963/7339.

EO Mission (ARMY)

The Equal Opportunity (EO) program and policy formulates, directs, and sustains a comprehensive effort to maximize human potential and to ensure fair treatment for all persons based solely on merit, fitness, and capability in support of readiness. Specifically, the goals of the EO program are to provide EO for military personnel and Family members, both on and off post and within the limits of the laws of localities, states, and host nations. Create and sustain effective units by eliminating discriminatory behaviors and/ or practices that undermine teamwork, mutual respect, loyalty, and shared sacrifice of the men and women of America’s Army.

Manage, direct, and sustain a comprehensive Human Relations Readiness Program addressing Equal Opportunity, Dispute Resolution, and Sexual Harassment/Assault Prevention in an effort to establish a command climate promoting mutual respect and trust for all members of the command.

The NTC & Fort Irwin Equal Opportunity (EO) program assists commanders in their efforts to formulate, direct, foster, and sustain a positive climate; allow Soldiers to achieve their highest level of responsibility, to ensure fair and equal treatment of all persons based solely on merit, fitness, and potential in support of readiness.

EOL Required Training

As published in FRAGORD #17-033 all Company, Battalion, and BDE EOL’s will be required to be at Sandy Basin CC on 8 February 2017 from 1500-1700 as part of resiliency week.

3.D.11. (U) All Equal Opportunity Leaders (EOL), both primaries and alternates, will meet with SFC Conklin, the post Equal Opportunity Leader, from 1500-1700 on 8 February 2016 for tier 3 train-the-trainer training. EOLs will receive a class and have time for questions and answers with the post SJA, IG, chaplain, surgeon, command sergeant major, and commanding general. This event is mandatory and takes precedence over all other duties and training.
