COMMAND SERGEANT MAJOR
916th Support Brigade

CSM Harris is a native of Tallulah, Louisiana.  He is currently serving as the Command Sergeant Major, 916th Support Brigade at the National Training Center & Fort Irwin, CA.

Prior to his current assignment he served as the Command Sergeant Major, 39th Transportation Battalion (Movement Control), Kaiserslautern, Germany. Other assignment include: Regimental Plans and Operations NCOIC, Transportation Regiment, Fort Lee, Virginia; Operations Sergeant, 82nd Sustainment Brigade Special Troops Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; First Sergeant, 546th Transportation Company, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Secretary, General Staff NCOIC, 1st Sustainment Command (Theater), Fort Bragg, North Carolina; and Combat Service Support Sergeant, Combined Security Transition Forces – Afghanistan, Camp Stone, Afghanistan.

He has successfully completed all Noncommissioned Officer Educations System courses and is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Class 64.  In addition, he complete the First Sergeants Course (Commandant’s List), Battle Staff NCO Course (Commandant’s List), Basic Air Assault Course (Distinguished Honor Graduate), Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education Course, Senior Leaders Course (Honor Graduate), Manpower and Force Management Course, Joint Logistics Course, Mobilization/Deployment Planning Course, Strategic Deployment Planning Course, Support Operations Course, Training Developer’s Course, and the Recruiter Management Course.

CSM Harris has deployed in support of numerous operation and hold a Master’s of Science in Management from Excelsior College.    

He is a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal for his service in Afghanistan, the Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal with silver oak leaf and bronze oak leaf, Army Achievement Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Armed Forces Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, and the Gold Recruiter Badge.

CSM Harris has been awarded the Honorable Order of Saint Christopher by the U.S. Army Transportation Corps.  He has written articles that were published in the Army’s NCO Journal, the Army Magazine, and the Army Sustainment Magazine online edition.
