CSM Luis D. Benitez is a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico and enlisted in the Army in July 1992 as a Cargo Specialist (88H).
 
CSM Benitez graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Eustis, Virginia.

CSM Benitez duty positions include Division Transportation SGM G4 1st Armored Division FT Bliss TX, Distribution Integration Branch (DIB) NCOIC SPO 15th Sustainment Brigade FT Bliss TX, S3 NCOIC 598th Transportation Brigade Rotterdam Netherlands, S3 NCOIC Special Troops Battalion 21st TSC Kaiserslautern Germany, First Sergeant HHD 14th Transportation Battalion Vicenza Italy, Transportation Integration Branch (TIB) NCOIC SPO 21st TSC Kaiserslautern Germany, S3 NCOIC 832nd Transportation Battalion Jacksonville Florida, Platoon Sergeant 551st Transportation Company FT Eustis VA, Section Sergeant 551st Transportation Company FT Eustis VA, Squad Leader 372nd Transportation Company FT Campbell, KY.

CSM Benitez stateside tours have included Fort Campbell Kentucky, Fort Eustis Virginia, Blount Island Florida, and Fort Bliss Texas. His overseas tours have included Germany, Italy, and Netherlands.  He has deployed to Somalia, Kuwait, Iraq, and Haiti.

CSM Benitez’s military education includes the Joint Operational Contract Support Planning and Execution Course (JOPEC), the Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education Course (SEJPME), the Company Commander/1SG Course, the Senior Leaders Course (SLC), the Advanced Leaders Course (ALC), the Basic Leaders Course (BLC), the Master Resilience Trainer (MRT) Course, the Sexual Harassment/ Assault Response (SHARP) Course, the Army Retention Course, and the Equal Opportunity (EO) Leaders Course.  CSM Benitez is a graduate of USASMA Class 66.
