Command Sergeant Major Crecencia A. Jeter was born in Belize, Central America, and later relocated to Mt Vernon, New York.

Command Sergeant Major Jeter enlisted in the United States Army on March 22, 1992. She attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina where she was awarded the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of 71L (Administrative Specialist) and later MOS of 42A (Human Resource Specialist).

Command Sergeant Major Jeter’s assignments include Plans and Operations Sergeant Major of the 1st HRSC Kaiserslautern Germany, Sergeant Major of the Passenger Transit Center, MK Air Base, Romania; First Sergeant of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, United States Army Garrison, Fort Drum, New York; Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of the CJ1, Human Resource Department, NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan and Combined Security Command-Afghanistan; Senior Drill Sergeant Bravo Company 1-48th Infantry Battalion, Ft Leonard Wood Missouri; Non Commissioned Officer in Charge of the Joint Visitors Bureau – Iraq: Non Commissioned Officer in Charge of Protocol, 3rd Infantry Division Headquarters- Fort Stewart Georgia; Non Commissioned Officer in Charge of the Secretary of the General Staff, III Corp Fort Hood, Texas; Administrative Specialist, 3rd Battalion 52nd Air Defense Artillery, Wildflecken, Germany; Administrative Specialist, 532nd Military Intelligence Battalion, YONGSAN, Korea; Administrative Specialist 47th Combat Support Hospital, 62nd Medical Group, Ft Lewis, Washington; Administrative Specialist, Bravo Company, 304th Signal Company, Camp Long- Korea.

Command Sergeant Major Jeter’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (4th Oak Leaf Cluster), the Army Commendation Medal (6th Oak Leaf Cluster), the Army Achievement Medal (7th Oak Leaf Cluster), the Drill Sergeant Badge, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the NATO Medal and various deployment and campaign ribbons. She is a member of the distinguished Sergeant Audie Murphy Club and is a graduate of the United States Sergeants Major Academy, Class 64.

Command Sergeant Major Jeter earned a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Webster University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting from Kansas State University.
