CSM Michael C. Williams entered the Army in April of 1990. He attended One Station Unit Training at Ft. Knox, Kentucky and graduated as a 19D Cavalry Scout. CSM Williams served in several units including 1st AD, 1st CAV, 2nd ID, and 3rd ID. CSM Williams has served in every leadership position from Section leader to First Sergeant. CSM Williams served not as the 6-1 Cavalry Operations Sergeant Major and as the 1/1 Brigade Rear-Detachment CSM. Most recently CSM Williams served with the 2nd Squadron, 13th Cavalry, as the Squadron Command Sergeant Major.

CSM Williams education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Management, all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System, First Sergeant Course, Jungle Operations Training Course, Drill Sergeant Course, and Levels I and II of the Army Combatives certification course. CSM Williams is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Class 63.

CSM Williams’ awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal for Valor, the Bronze Star Medal (w/3 OLC), the Meritorious Service Medal (w/2 OLC), the Army Commendation Medal for Valor, the Army Commendation Medal (w/5 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (w/8 OLC), the Army Good Conduct Medal (8th award), the National Defense Service Ribbon (with bronze star), the Korean Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the South West Asia Service Medal (w/3 BSS), the Iraqi Campaign Medal (w/4 BSS), the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon (numeral 4), the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Ribbon (numeral 2), the Kuwaiti Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), the Kuwaiti Liberation Medal (Kuwait), the Meritorious Unit Citation (2 OLC), the Army Superior Unit Award, the Drill Sergeant Badge and the Combat Action Badge.

CSM Williams is a recipient of the Order of Saint George (Bronze Medallion). He has deployed in support of Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Vigilant Warrior, Operation Desert Spring, Task Force Warrior, and Operation Iraqi Freedom on three occasions.
