LTC Fernando Guadalupe Jr.
2916th Aviation Battalion Commander 

 

Lieutenant Colonel Fernando Guadalupe Jr. was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico and raised in Atlanta, Georgia.  He graduated from Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration. 

His military education includes:  Aviation Officer Basic Course; Aviation Officer Advanced Course; UH-60 Maintenance Test Pilot Course; UH-60 Instructor Pilot Course; Command and General Staff College; School of Advanced Military Studies with a Master’s Degree in Military Arts and Science. 

His military assignments include:  2nd Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment (AASLT), 25th Infantry Division (L), Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii as a Platoon Leader and Executive Officer; 3rd Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment (AASLT), 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, Giebelstadt, Germany as a Logistics Officer, Assistant Operations Officer, and Company Commander deployed to Baghdad, Iraq during OIF I; 2nd Battalion, 210th Aviation Regiment, 110th Aviation Brigade, Fort Rucker, Alabama as an Operations Officer, Company Commander, and Executive Officer; 10th Mountain Division (L), Baghdad, Iraq as a Division Planner during OIF 08-09; 3rd Battalion, 1st Aviation Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas as an Operations Officer and Executive Officer; 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division Infantry Division as Deputy Commanding Officer deployed to Iraq during OIF 10-11; and 1st Infantry Division as the ACoS, G3 Aviation Officer.

LTC Guadalupe’s awards and decorations include:  the Bronze Star Medal (3rd award); the Meritorious Service Medal (4th award); the Air Medal (w/ V device), the Army Commendation Medal; the Army Achievement Medal; the Combat Action Badge, the Master Aviator Badge; and the Air Assault Badge.

LTC Guadalupe is married to the former Ivette Marte of the Dominican Republic.  They have two children, their daughter Sabrina and son Fernando III.
