Lieutenant Colonel Robertson is a Distinguished Military Graduate from Virginia Tech and was commissioned as an Infantry Officer in June of 1990.
He first served in the 82nd Airborne Division as a Platoon Leader, Support Platoon Leader, and Headquarters Company Executive Officer. Following the Captain’s Career Course, he was assigned to Alaska where he served as the Assistant Brigade S3, Battalion Adjutant, and Company Commander. His next assignment was to the U.S. Army “Old Guard” in Washington D.C. as a company commander. Following this assignment, he was assigned as a Joint Team Commander, Joint Task Force Full-Accounting stationed in Hawaii with duties in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos focused on achieving the fullest possible accounting of all Americans still Missing in Action as a result of the conflict in Southeast Asia. This is his second assignment with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment (ACR) - having served as a Squadron Executive Officer and Regimental Operations Officer, 11th ACR with whom he deployed to Iraq.
Lieutenant Colonel A. Brian Robertson most recently served as a personal staff officer in the Training and Doctrine (TRADOC) Commander’s Planning Group at Fort Monroe, Virginia. Prior to serving in his current assignment, he served as the Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General, TRADOC.
Lieutenant Colonel Robertson’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Ranger Tab, Senior Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Air Assault Badge and the British and Thai Airborne Badges.
