Command Sergeant Major Noel Foster
Command Sergeant Major Noel Foster is a native of Washington State the child of Terry C. Berglund and Donna (Sue) Berglund of Washington State. He entered the Army in July of 1988 and attended One Station Unit Training for MOS 11B (Infantry) at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Command Sergeant Major Foster has served in every enlisted leadership position within the Infantry and Mechanized Infantry – from Rifleman to Operations Sergeant Major. He also performed duties as a Drill Sergeant for 2-54 IN, Fort Benning, Georgia and as a Platoon Trainer Mentor and Tactical Analysis Feedback NCOIC for Task Force 1 of JRTC Operations Group Fort Polk, Louisiana.
His assignments include B Company, 1-6 Infantry, Illeshiem and Vilseck, Germany, B Company, 3-502 Infantry(AASLT), Fort Campbell, Kentucky, D Company and E Company 2-54 Infantry, Fort Benning, Georgia, A Company 1-504 PIR, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Task Force 1, JRTC Operations Group, Fort Polk, Louisiana, C Company 1-502 Infantry (AASLT), Fort Campbell, Kentucky, A Company and Headquarters and Headquarters Company 1-506 Infantry (AASLT) Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Headquarters and Headquarters Company 2-506 Infantry (AASLT) Fort Campbell, Kentucky and Headquarters and Headquarters Company 506th Infantry 4 BCT (AASLT) Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Command Sergeant Major Foster is currently working on his Bachelor’s degree in Criminology with a minor in Psychology. He is a graduate of the Warrior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, 1SG Course, United States Army Sergeants Major Course (NRC – 36), Battalion Pre-Command Sergeant Majors Course, Command Sergeant Major Development Program, Drill Sergeant School, Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, Air Assault School, Ranger School, French Commando School and numerous other Infantry and technical MOS related schools.
His Awards include the Bronze Star Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters (OLC), the Meritorious Service Medal with 2 (OLC), the Army Achievement Medal with 6 OLC, the Army Good Conduct Medal 7th Award, the National Defense Service Medal with Campaign Star(CS), NCO Professional Development Ribbon (4), the Overseas Service Ribbon (4), the Navy Achievement Medal, the NATO Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Kuwait Liberation Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with 2 CS, the South West Asia Campaign Medal with 2 CS, the Meritorious Unit Commendation with OLC, the Navy Unit Commendation Medal, the Army Superior Unit Award, the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, the Ranger Tab, the Combat Infantryman Badge with Star, the Expert Infantryman Badge, the Air Assault Badge, the Senior Parachutist Badge and the Expert Rifleman Badge. CSM Foster is also a recipient and member of the Audie Murphy Club and Medal.
CSM Foster is attended here at Fort Irwin with his Spouse Lanette K Foster of Marksville, Louisiana and is a recipient of the Mary E. Walker Award. They have been married since December of 1990. They have 4 children (3 Girls and 1 Boy) that are no longer residing with them.
