CSM Lance P. Lehr

Command Sergeant Major Lance P. Lehr is a native of Los Angeles California. He enlisted in the Army as a Cavalry Scout in January, 1984. He holds an Associate Degree in Applied Science and is currently pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Human Relations. He has attended all levels of the Non Commissioned officer Education System, including the Sergeant Major and Command Sergeants Major Courses. He has held every enlisted leadership position from Scout Team leader to Command Sergeant Major.

Command Sergeant Major Lehr has served in a wide variety of assignments, including the 1st Squadron, 4th United States Cavalry Regiment (Quarter-horse) at Fort Riley, Kansas; 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment (Dragoons), in the Federal Republic of Germany and Fort Polk, Louisiana; The Boeselager International Scout skills team in Nurnberg, Germany; the 5th Squadron, 15th Cavalry (Golden Lions) at Fort Knox, Kentucky; the University of Alabama, Crimson Tide battalion (ROTC); the Sergeants Major Academy at Fort Bliss, Texas; the 1-13 Armor (Dakotas), 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division (Bulldogs), 2nd Battalion, 70th Armor Battalion (Thunderbolts); and the 1st Combined Arms Battalion, 63rd Armor Regiment (Dragons), all at Fort Riley, Kansas; the 6th Squadron, 9th U.S. Cavalry (Sabers) at Fort Hood, Texas. His most recent assignment was as the 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division (Ironhorse) Command Sergeant Major.

Command Sergeant Major Lehr’s awards and decorations include; the Legion of Merit; the Bronze Star medal w/2OLC; the Meritorious Service Medal w/3OLC; the Army Commendation Medal w/5OLC; the Army Achievement Medal w/8OLC; the Combat Action Badge; the US Army Drill Sergeant Badge, Pathfinder Badge, and Air Assault Wings. He is a Rappel Master, a member of the US Army Europe (USAEUR) Sergeant Morales Club, an honorary member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Association and is a Senior Spur Holder. He is a member of the Honorable order of Saint George (Bronze Medallion), as well as the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara.

He has been married to the Former Heidi Pruner of Los Angeles California for 31 years, and has three grown daughters, Rachel, Alyssa, and Eden.
