National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)

The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requires federal agencies to integrate environmental values into their decision making processes by considering the environmental impacts of their proposed actions and reasonable alternatives to those actions. Fort Irwin's Active NEPA Actions

Power Purchase Agreement for Construction, Operation, and Maintenance of a Photo-Voltaic Array Facility

A review of the potential environmental consequences of the proposed Power Purchase Agreement for construction, operation, and maintenance of a new photo-voltaic (PV) facility to generate reliable back-up power, reduce consumption of non-renewable energy, and reduce combustion emissions. The PV facility would be constructed and operated by a third party contractor.P>

The Environmental Assessment will be available for public review and comment beginning September 16, 2014. Written comments must be received no later than October 15, 2014. Copies of the EA are available at;

Capital Improvement Project to Replace Water Transmission Pipeline

A review of the potential environmental consequences of the proposed Capital Improvement Project for the construction of a replacement water transmission pipeline in the Fort Irwin cantonment area. The project is necessary to replace an aging water transmission pipeline infrastructure that is deteriorating, is beyond its useful lifespan, and could, as a result, cause water service and fire flow disruptions in the cantonment area.
