National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)

The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requires federal agencies to integrate environmental values into their decision making processes by considering the environmental impacts of their proposed actions and reasonable alternatives to those actions. Capital Improvement Project to Replace Water Transmission Pipeline

A review of the potential environmental consequences of the proposed Capital Improvement Project for the construction of a replacement water transmission pipeline in the Fort Irwin cantonment area. The project is necessary to replace an aging water transmission pipeline infrastructure that is deteriorating, is beyond its useful lifespan, and could, as a result, cause water service and fire flow disruptions in the cantonment area.

The Programmatic Environmental Assessment will be available for public review and comment beginning December 8, 2014. Written comments must be received no later than January 7, 2015. Copies of the EA are available at;

Notice of Availability (NOA) and Notice of Intent (NOI) to Adopt an Initial Study / Mitigated Negative Declaration for the Construction and Operation of the Fort Irwin Water Treatment Plant and Bicycle Lake Main Extension at Fort Irwin, California

In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the CEQA Guidelines, a Draft Initial Study / Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) has been prepared that identifies and evaluates the environmental impacts of the Construction and Operation of the Fort Irwin Water Treatment Plant and Bicycle Lake Water Main Extension.

The Draft Initial Study / Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) will be available for public review and comment beginning December 8, 2014. Written comments must be received no later than January 9, 2015. Copies of the IS/MND are available at;
