COL Jim Kazmierczak
916th Support Brigade Commander


Colonel Jim Kazmierczak was commissioned a Second Lieutenant, Transportation Corps, with a detail to the Field Artillery in 1990. He grew up in a military family, the son of a career Army Officer. After attending the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, he was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 32nd Field Artillery (Lance), Wiesbaden, Germany where he served as a Platoon Leader and Battalion Adjutant. He also served in the 502nd Transportation Battalion (MC) as an operations officer. Colonel Kazmierczak was next assigned as a Platoon Leader, 515th Transportation Company (POL) and was subsequently assigned as the Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General, 3rd Corps Support Command, Weisbaden, Germany.

       Following the advanced course, he was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) where he served as the Assistant Division Transportation Officer. He next served as the Adjutant, 101st Corps Support Group followed by Commander, 372nd Transportation Company (Cargo Transfer) and Battalion S3, 561st Corps Support Battalion, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Colonel Kazmierczak was selected as a Joint Staff Intern, and was assigned to the Pentagon, Logistics Directorate, J4, followed by an assignment as a Logistics Operations Officer on the Army Staff, Office of Deputy Chief of Staff, Logistics.

       After attending the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, Colonel Kazmierczak was assigned as the Division Transportation Officer, 3rd Infantry Division (Mech) Fort Stewart, Georgia and deployed in support of OIF I. In 2003 he was assigned as the Executive Officer, 26th Forward Support Battalion followed by Brigade S3, Division Support Brigade deployed for OIF III. His next PCS had him serving in the J3/Operations Directorate, United States Transportation Command, Scott AFB, IL from July 2006 to July 2008.
       Colonel Kazmierczak returned to Fort Stewart and assumed command of the 26th Brigade Support Battalion, “CHALLENGERS” from July 2008 - January 2011 and deployed the battalion to Mosul, Iraq in support of OIF VII and Operation New Dawn.
       Colonel Kazmierczak holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Loras College, Dubuque, Iowa; a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from Webster University, St. Louis, Missouri; and a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University, Washington, DC.
Colonel Kazmierczak is married to the former Anita Felice, (LTC, Ret). They have two children Thomas (13) and Alaina (11).
