CSM Ray Rodriguez was born on Long Island, New York on 13 April 1966.  He entered active service in January 1986 and attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, SC and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana.  Upon completion of AIT he proceeded to Lowry Air Force Base, Colorado then afterwards reenlisted to attend Basic Airborne Training en route to Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  CSM Rodriguez has completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts with Excelsior College and is working on his Master Degree in Business Management.

CSM Rodriguez’s military education includes Basic Airborne Course; Jumpmaster Course; Military Freefall Course; Ranger Course; Master Fitness Course; SERE Course; Special Forces Qualification Course; Battle Staff NCO Course; Warriors Leaders Course; Advanced Leaders Course; Senior Leaders Course; United States Army First Sergeant Course, Battalion Pre-Command Course; The Inspector General Course and the United States Army Sergeants Major Course (Non Resident Class 34).

CSM Rodriguez held numerous duty positions to include Personnel Management NCO; Personnel Staff NCO; Personnel Records NCO; Senior Personnel Actions NCO; Personnel Readiness NCOIC; Strength Manager; Personnel Services Center NCOIC; Personnel Information Branch NCOIC; First Sergeant; Human Resources Plans and Operations Branch NCOIC, 25th Infantry Division G1 Sergeant Major, United States Army Pacific Inspector General Sergeant Major and is currently serving as the 1916th Support Battalion Command Sergeant Major.

CSM Rodriguez’s subsequent assignments include tours with the 560th Signal Battalion, Lowry Air Force Base, Colorado; HHD 18th Personnel Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; HHC 1st Personnel Command, Heidelberg, Germany; 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii and United States Army Pacific, Hawaii.

CSM Rodriguez has deployed in support of multiple combat operations and real world operations.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with 1 Oak leaf Cluster; Defense Meritorious Service Medal with 1 Oak leaf Cluster; Meritorious Service Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters; Joint Service Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster; Army Commendation Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters; Joint Service Achievement Medal; Army Achievement Medal with 6 Oak Leaf Clusters; Good Conduct Medal 9th Award; National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Service Star; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Southwest Asia Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars; Kuwait Defense and Liberation Medal; Iraqi Campaign Medal; Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 4; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon with Numeral 6; Presidential Unit Citation; Army Superior Unit Award; Meritorious Unit Citation; Ranger Tab; Master Parachutist Badge; Military Freefall Badge; and the German Parachute Badge (Silver).
