Charlie Troop, 1st Squadron, 11th ACR is an Armored Cavalry Troop (3 tanks platoons) with a composition of 7 M1A1 Abrams tanks and 7 OPFOR Main Battle Tanks.  The troop has two missions.  One mission is replicating the battlefield based on current operations found throughout the world where the United States Army is fighting the Global War on Terrorism.  This mission is done through executing OPFOR, National Security Forces, and Civilian on the Battlefield (COBs).

The other mission of Charlie Troop is to train all necessary 19K skills in order for all Soldiers to be tactically and technically sound in their duties as warriors.  These skills such as Warrior Tasks and Battle Drills, Gunnery and Maneuver training all play a vital role this troop ability to ready and able to deploy as part of the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment  when called upon.

"It must be accepted as a principle that the rifle, effective as it is, cannot replace the effect produced by the speed of the horse, the magnetism of the charge, and the terror of COLD STEEL!"
