Equal Opportunity
Fort Irwin > Army Civilians > EO/EEO Offices > Equal Opportunity

The Fort Irwin Equal Opportunity (EO) Office assist commanders in their efforts to formulate and sustain a comprehensive effort to maximize human potential and ensure fair and equal treatment of all persons based solely on merit, fitness, and capability in support of readiness.

Through the cooperative efforts of unit commanders and the EO Advisors, the goal of the EO program is to create and sustain effective units and environments by eliminating unlawful discriminatory behaviors or practices based on a person race, religion, color, gender, national origin and sexual harassment.

Commanders are able to sustain a positive EO climate through proactive education and training, clear policies, ethnic and special observances, and an expeditious complaint resolution process thereby enhancing unit cohesion, readiness and mission accomplishment in both peace and war.
