MISSION
The Army Casualty Assistance Office is a subordinate office of the Fort Hauchuca, Casualty Assistance Center, Our mission is to assist Army families both active and retired in their time of bereavement. Upon the death of an active duty Army Soldier, Soldiers dependent, Army Retirees, or anyone who previously served in the Army, the following information should be provided telephonically to the Casualty Officer.

* Unit (active duty only)
* Circumstances surrounding the death
* Next of Kin (NOK) information
You may contact the Casualty Office at (760) 380-4036 or at (800) 248-0759 or (520)533-2229 Monday thru Friday from 8:00am – 4:30 PST. Weekends and holidays contact the at (760)380-3750. Our office will provide immediate assistance to the family. If the deceased is a retiree, our office will report to the Defense Finance and Accounting Service for further processing of retirement pay and initiation of the survivor benefits process.
Military Burial Honors for deceased active duty Army Soldiers, Army Retirees, and Army Veterans may be requested at the same above numbers. When requesting burial honors for Army Retirees and Veterans; families must supply proof of military service, i.e. (DD Form 214) and give 48 hour notice of burial. Line of Duty Investigations are also a function of the Casualty Office. Reasons for conducting a Line of Duty Investigations can be found in Army Regulation 600-8-4, Chapter 2, paragraph 2-2.
